Benton Hall

The UPCIS is located inside the Benton Hall, along Roxas Ave. in the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Benton Hall was named after the University of the Philippines’ third President, Dr. Guy Potter Benton (1921-1923). The building is designed by Filipino architect Juan F. Nakpil. It was constructed in a mid-century modern style and is celebrated decades on for its distinctive brise soleil or sunshade panels against its facades.

It was originally constructed in the 1960s through a Rockefeller Foundation Grant to house the libraries and resource collections of the old UP School of Economics and UP Virata School of Business. It was later turned into the University’s Registrar building, and today it is the current home of the UPCIS.
